Sandy Jo Buzzard

Sandy Jo Buzzard, 46, of St. Elmo, died at 10:24 p.m., Saturday, August 3, 2013 at her home. 

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 8, 2013 at First United Methodist Church, St. Elmo with Dan Laack officiating and burial to follow at Crums Chapel Cemetery, rural St. Elmo. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at the Methodist Church and for one hour prior to service time. Memorials may be made to the Marine Mothers Inc., The Wounded Warrior Project, or The Wellness Loft, in Effingham.

Sandy was born on Wednesday, January 18, 1967 in Vandalia to Carroll and Pat (Bergfeld) Lotz. She married Dean Buzzard on July 19, 1988. She was a homemaker and assisted on the family farm. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, St. Elmo, was the Avena Township Tax Assessor, was a Licensed Esthetician, and ABATE of Illinois. She loved her family. She made sure her kitchen and home were always open. She enjoyed her flowers, her dogs, and took great pride in her yard.
 
She is survived by her husband, Dean Buzzard of St. Elmo, son, Mitchell Buzzard and his wife Morgan of San Clemente, California, daughter, Kaitlin Buzzard of Las Vegas, New Mexico, parents, Carroll "Doc" & Pat Lotz of St. Peter, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lyle & Gloria Buzzard of St. Elmo, sister-in-law Mindy (Shane) Healy of St. Elmo, niece and nephews, Garrett, Perry, and Gatlin.

Sandy was preceded in death by her brother, Scott Lotz and her grandparents.

    To the entire family I express my most heartfelt condolences. I was working with Sandy as an esthetician and she had such an enthusiasm for life and all she did. May God give you his strength as he welcomes one of his angels home.
