Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Altamont with Rev. Dr. James Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Altamont. Visitation will be for two hours prior to service time at the church. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or LWML Mites.
Isabella was born on Monday, February 8, 1932 in Rural Altamont to Frederick and Estella (Rauscher) Becker. She was baptized February 21, 1932 at St. Paul Lutheran Church ‘Blue Point’ and confirmed on April 14, 1946 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Altamont.
She married Eldon E. Tappendorf on October 20, 1951 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Altamont and he preceded her in death on February 20, 2010. After attending Beauty School she worked as a hairdresser for a short time. She was also a homemaker, assisted on the family farm and garage door business. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Altamont and was active with LWML having served as an officer for many years.
She is survived by her six children Deborah Tappendorf (Kenneth McGhee) of Altamont, IL; Sandra (Michael) Weber of Mechanicsburg, PA; David (Peggy) Tappendorf of Louisville, KY; Timothy (Marilyn) Tappendorf of Belleville, IL; Sara (Richard) Wendling of Mason, IL and Daniel (Julie) Tappendorf of Champaign, IL.
She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren; Heather Weber, Mark (Amanda) Tappendorf, Paul and Abby Tappendorf, Tyler Tappendorf, Jillian (David) Wood, Benjamin (Amberlyn) Wendling, Nicholas and Shelby Wendling, Tori, Kelsey, Haley and Silas Tappendorf, 2 great grandchildren; Aubrey Tappendorf and Philip Wood, 4 step grandchildren; Jacob (Erin) Wendling, Jeff (Kelsey) Weber, Chris (Dee) Weber and Chad Weber, 8 step great grandchildren, sister, Dorothea Heumann of St. Paul, MN, brothers, Harold Becker of Altamont and Carl Becker of Red Bud.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Fred Becker II, brother-in-law, Arnold Heumann, sisters-in-law, Joyce Becker, Alberta Becker and Betty Becker.
